Newport County will be without skipper Gary Warren for the visit of York City this weekend.
Warren is suspended after being sent-off in the 3-3 home draw with Eastbourne Borough on Tuesday evening.
Midfielder Jamie Collins could be asked to partner Chris Todd in central defence, although on loan Bristol Rovers 20-year-old schemer Charlie Clough may instead fill the void as he can also play at the back.
“I think he`ll bring a good strength and a bit of ability to pass the ball. He has good aerial ability too,” Rovers manager Paul Trollope told the South Wales Argus.
“He`s also someone who can get forward and nick a goal from set-pieces.”
