Former York City striker Derek Riordan has moved to Edinburgh Amateur Football League side St Bernard’s.

The 35-year-old managed only four appearances after being signed by then York boss Jackie McNamara in January 2016. He was released at the end of that season.

Edinburgh-born Riordan had more recently been playing for Edinburgh City in the Scottish Second Division, having earlier in his career enjoyed success during stays at Hibernian [twice] and Celtic, while also gaining three full Scotland caps.

He later spent time with St Johnstone, Bristol Rovers, Alloa Athletic, Brechin City and East Fife.
