Foyle praises City fans

York City manager Martin Foyle has called upon the fans to continue giving the club their magnificent support which they again demonstrated in midweek.

The Minstermen took more than six hundred supporters to Grimsby Town on Tuesday evening and they backed their side superbly as the visitors eventually battled to a 0-0 draw at Blundell Park.

Foyle admitted he had been delighted at such a positive response, especially given the very disappointing home defeat to Kidderminster Harriers just three days earlier.

“We had a great crowd that night. Our away support is very solid,” he told The Press. “We understand some of the longer away games, like the one this weekend, will be hard to get to, but our support is very good and hopefully we can give them something to cheer about.”
