Martin Foyle paid tribute to midfielder Neil Barrett after he claimed York City’s winner at Kidderminster Harriers.

Barrett’s fourth goal of the season proved sufficient to earn a vital 1-0 victory at Aggborough Stadium, and helped lift the Minstermen into fourth place in the table.

“Neil can make those forward runs at the right time. It was a great curling ball from Jamie Clarke and it was a fantastic finish,” a delighted Foyle told BBC Radio York.

“He deserves it because he`s been working hard without getting the rewards in terms of goals,” he continued.

“I think he could get ten goals a season and hopefully this will give him impetus going into the last month.”

The York boss also gave special mention to skipper Michael Ingham, who kept the hosts at bay with a number of fine saves.

“He`s been fantastic for me,” added Foyle. “He thoroughly deserves the plaudits.

“The captaincy has settled him down a bit and his concentration levels are there for everybody to see.

“A captain leads by example and his quality has been very good.”
