Supporters group the York Minstermen have added York City goalkeeper Michael Ingham, together with his glove sponsors Paxsport (www.paxsport.co.uk), to their expanding list of barrel sponsors for the Bootham Crescent 2010 World Cup Beer Festival, which is a major fundraising event for the club’s youth team.

The former Northern Ireland international has previously donated some of his old playing shirts for online auction, and is always keen to help the next generation of players – especially goalkeepers.

Although York’s current skipper is unable to attend the Beer Festival on 25th – 27th June, he has asked that his 4 tickets are used as a raffle prize at next week’s Richard Herring performance in the Social Club – another youth team fundraiser.

Whilst there has been an excellent response to the appeal for barrel sponsors, there are still some barrels requiring sponsorship. Therefore if you have £75 available to invest, please get in touch with the organisers. For that you will receive 4 tickets, publicity before and during the Beer Festival, including a half page advert in the souvenir programme and a mention on ‘Beer Festival TV’, and the satisfaction of helping a worthy cause.

Tickets for the Beer Festival, priced at £5 each, are now on sale in the Club Shop Monday – Friday, 10.30pm – 2.30pm), in the Supporters Office on match days and at all York Minstermen events. The ticket is valid for all 3 days of the event and can be exchanged for a commemorative glass, pen, souvenir programme and 2 half pint vouchers on arrival.

For any queries relating to the Beer Festival, including sponsorship, please e-mail ian@yorkminstermen.org.uk or phone / text Ian on 07794 091 810.
