York City boss Nigel Worthington has no fears of his side suffering a hangover from their play-off disappointment last season.

“This is an honest group and I can’t imagine that changing in any way this season” – Nigel Worthington

The Minstermen narrowly missed out on a Wembley final after losing on aggregate
to the eventually promoted Fleetwood Town.

In the past clubs have then often
struggled at the start of the following campaign – but Worthington remains confident his reshaped squad can overcome that potential hurdle.

“It is not something I am worried about,” he told the Yorkshire Post. “I know a couple may have struggled last season but that need not have any bearing on us.

“For a start, we over-achieved last season. I don’t think many would argue with that. And we managed to do that through hard work,” Worthington added. “This is an honest group and I can’t imagine that changing in any way this season. We are certainly not thinking about Fleetwood.”
