Volunteers will be collecting signatures supporting a community stadium before the play-off semi-final first-leg on Thursday evening.
Fans are asked to try and spare a moment to sign as volunteers attempt to collect names while supporters queue at the turnstiles.
Blank petitions will also be handed out so that fans can gather names of family and friends before returning the document ahead of the due date of 30th June.
The petition, which will be presented to the City of York Council in July, reads:
‘We the undersigned believe that York needs a community stadium to help ensure that its sports clubs survive and prosper, and to be an amenity and focus of civic pride for the whole community. We call upon the City of York Council to do everything in its power to ensure that such a stadium is provided by 2015.’
