A third successive defeat for York City against Blyth Spartans heaped further woes on their long-suffering supporters at Bootham Crescent.

The Minstermen were outclassed by always hugely industrious opponents that went ahead after Daniel Rowe clattered into Robbie Dale and Sean Reid netted from the spot.

However, York levelled courtesy of Jon Parkin, once again from a penalty, when Aidan Connolly theatrically collapsed inside the area. But the home defence then generously separated for non-stop substitute Adam Wrightson to restore the lead.

Greg Rutherford later claimed a third on the break for the visitors, before Parkin added a late eighteenth of the season to rather flatter the home side.
