York City FC staged their annual Christmas Carol Service at St Luke’s Church, Burton Stone Lane on Thursday evening.

The event was attended by around two-hundred people, with refreshments later being made available in Bootham Crescent’s 1922 Bar.

City players, management and officials formed part of the congregation, with sporting director Dave Penney, defender Daniel Parslow and midfielder Theo Wharton undertaking readings.

Other representatives included Amari Morgan-Smith, Aidan Connolly, Sam Muggleton and Alex Whittle, alongside Foundation manager Paula Stainton and Foundation trustee John McGhee, Chief Executive Jackie McNamara and stadium development director Ian McAndrew.
