Martin Foyle has warned his York City side over the potential danger of former winger Adam Smith at Field Mill tonight.

The 25-year-old joined the Stags in the summer after being offered only a short-term deal following a rather disappointing first full season at Bootham Crescent.

He has since managed one goal in eight appearances for the Stags, and Foyle believes he can still be a genuine threat against his former club.

“He`s a very good player and we will have to be on our guard,” Foyle told The Press. “We will need to mark him tightly because we know what he can do. We`ve talked about it and worked on it, so we will see what our full-backs are made of.”

Smith netted twice in eighteen starts and fifteen substitute appearances for the Minstermen last term, and four goals in fifty games in total after arriving from Gainsborough Trinity in November 2008.
