Having ended a sequence of three straight defeats by holding a confident Birmingham side in their latest challenge, York City Futsal are back in action when hosting Loughborough at the YorkSport Arena on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 4.15pm).

The Minstermen already accounted for their latest opponents on the opening day of the season after Daniel Pedras, Jamie Bettson and Robbie Bettson were each on target in a 3-1 victory.

With the midway point of their campaign now approaching, York are currently eighth in the twelve-club table having won three and drawn one of their opening nine games.

Should they manage to add a fourth victory this weekend, City would move six points clear of their visitors, who thus far boast just triumphs against Tranmere Rovers and FC Salisbury United, although impressively amassing nine goals in both games.

Boro’s last couple of displays have, though, resulted in successive defeats to second-placed London Helvecia after previously securing a very respectable 3-3 draw at their local rivals, London City.

Their ranks notably include a couple of former City youngsters in Jamie Hallas and Myles Chadwick, who were both coached by York supremo Junior Roberti.

Meanwhile, there’s a full league programme elsewhere, including table-topping Reading Escolla travelling to London Genesis, who finally secured their first win of the season last weekend.

Nearest challengers London Helvecia are visiting Manchester, while it’s Birmingham v Cambridge United, Oxford City Lions v London City and Tranmere v FC Salisbury in the remaining games.
