Belles’ Josie in former club return

York City Ladies full-back Josie Hewson has transfered her FA Women’s Premier League registration to promotion-chasers Brighouse Town.

However, the 24-year-old remains on a dual registration with the Minsterbelles having already been a virtual ever-present for them this season.

Hewson originally made over eighty appearances during four years with City Ladies, until moving to newly-promoted Brighouse in September 2016.

But having featured for them eleven times, she then switched to their WPL rivals Guiseley Vixens the following January, going on to make fifteen appearances as they lifted the Northern Division One title.

Last September, Hewson returned to former club York while continuing to study for her masters degree, and has since completed ten appearances.

The Belles are next in action when taking on Redcar Town in the County Cup final at Stokesley on Sunday afternoon, kick-off 2.00pm.
