Former York City loan winger Ryan Brobbel has joined Evo-Stik Premier League outfit Darlington.

“He’s creative and very smart on the ball” – Martin Gray

The 22-year-old was released by Middlesbrough at the end of last season and also includes a previous loan spell at Hartlepool United.

He actually appeared for the Quakers against the Minstermen during pre-season and similarly spent time on trial with Torquay United.

“Ryan has got some very good quality. He’s creative, is very smart on the ball, and uses the ball well,” manager Martin Gray told Darlington’s official website. “Even though he’s 22 years old, he’s got plenty of experience so far in his career.”

Brobbel could make an immediate debut for his new club this evening as they chase a fourth successive victory against bottom-of-the-table Ramsbottom United.
