York City’s on loan winger Courtney Pitt doesn’t mind which of his former clubs provide the opposition in their play-off semi-final next week.

The Minstermen will have their fate determined in the next couple of days, and Pitt, who has already previously played for Luton Town and Oxford United during his career, believes that both of them would present an equally stern challenge.

“I don`t really mind which of them we play,” he told The Press. “They`re obviously good clubs at this level and would both be tough opponents but we`re happy to play either of them.

“Luton were favourites to win the league at the start of the season and might be disappointed that they haven`t, although they`ve been on a great run. Oxford might also be disappointed not to have won the league having been leading it for a long time but there`s no pressure on us.

“We`ve just got to try to apply ourselves and do the best we can. Then, hopefully, our quality and strength will shine through,” continued Pitt.

The 28-year-old Paddington-born winger has made eleven appearances and scored once for York since arriving on loan from Cambridge United during the January transfer window, but has missed the last four games after a change in formation by manager Martin Foyle.

“You want to play in every game so it`s been disappointing not to be involved recently but, hopefully, I can get some minutes in the play-offs to show what I can do,” he added.
