York City Futsal gave their National Super League hopes a massive boost with a recent 3-1 victory at bottom of the table London Genesis.

Despite being without leading goalscorer Daniel Pedras, the visitors finally achieved a first win in nine games and since defeating the same opposition back in November.

The Minstermen, who were playing in yellow shirts, took the lead through Tom Blackburn after good work from Jamie Bettson.

Blackburn then robbed goalkeeper George White to add his second following Fabinho Almeida’s through ball.

However, Claudio De Almeida then found the far corner to reduce the deficit ahead of the interval.

But Jamie Bettson struck after the break to secure a vital triumph for the visitors as they moved six points clear of relegation.

Weekend Results: London City 2-6 FC Salisbury United; London Genesis 1-3 York City; London Helvecia 7-2 Cambridge United; Loughborough 2-3 Birmingham; Manchester 6-3 Tranmere Rovers; Oxford City Lions 2-5 Reading Escolla
