York City Futsal switch attentions to the FA Futsal Cup as they entertain Sheffield at the YorkSport Arena on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 4.15pm).

The Minstermen boosted their survival prospects in the National Super League with a crucially important 3-1 victory at London Genesis last weekend.

Thomas Blackburn scored twice for the visitors while Jamie Bettson added his fourth goal of the campaign to finally secure a first success in nine games.

That was sufficient to lift them six points clear of the relegation zone with eight matches of their season remaining.

There was a big win for York City in the capital against London Genesis

Sheffield are currently fourth in the six-club Super League Northern section with just a single victory from their opening half-dozen fixtures.

That came against Liverpool in January, and they followed it with a draw in the immediate return meeting while also holding visitors Atletico Birmingham last time out.

But the South Yorkshire outfit had earlier suffered defeats to league leaders the University of Nottingham (twice) and Durham.
