York City are facing plenty of strong competition for former Scunthorpe United goalkeeper Sam Slocombe.
The 26-year-old is a free-agent after making fifteen appearances for the Glanford Park side last season.
The Minstermen and League Two rivals Oxford United are current front-runners after already speaking to the player, with both Millwall and an unnamed Scottish Premiership club also understood to be keen.
Slocombe has made over a century of appearances for the Iron and appeared for them under current York boss Russ Wilcox.
