Former York City centre-back Jack Higgins has signed for Evo-Stik Premier Division side Farsley Celtic.

The 26-year-old arrives from Warrington Town and also includes Southport, Stalybridge Celtic, Ashton United and Clitheroe amongst his former clubs.

Higgins made fifteen appearances for the Minstermen after being brought in on a two-year deal from Stalybridge in May 2016, later being sent out on loan to Southport, until his release from Bootham Crescent in June of the following year.

“I am delighted to get Jack on board at the football club,” manager Adam Lakeland told Farsley’s official website. “He is a player that I have watched and admired for some time over the years at a couple of different clubs.

“He can offer us so much; he is a leader and a winner,” he added. “Jack gets himself his fair share of goals and is great from set pieces, offering a real threat in the opposition box. He is at a good age at 26 and has a great character and hunger for the game. I believe that he will be a great signing for Farsley Celtic.”
