More Blues for Grays

Grays Athletic manager Julian Dicks was left lamenting a desperately poor display from his side ahead of their home clash with York City on Tuesday evening.

After pushing current Blue Square Premier leaders Stevenage Borough close four days earlier, the bottom-of-the-table Blues were back to their worst at the weekend as they went down to a 3-0 defeat at revitalised Cambridge United.

“In the first-half we looked a different team from the one that battled so well against Stevenage in midweek,” Dicks told the Thurrock Gazette.

“Of course it`s frustrating for me. All you ask is that your players work hard, but in the first-half we never got going.

“We didn`t get near anybody and there were no tackles going in from us,” he continued. “We got punished for our mistakes and generally the display was a long way short of what we produced against Stevenage.

“Even when we created chances we failed to find the target.”
