A last-minute goal denied York City Futsal in their vital relegation clash with Tranmere Rovers, who eventually ran out 5-4 winners following an absolute  thriller at Prenton Park last weekend.

Leading marksman Daniel Pedras and debutant Luke Aldrich appeared to have the visitors in charge when opening up an early two-goal advantage. But Federico Fradl Peel and Ed Bryers, with a ten-yard penalty, replied before the break.

Fourteen-goal Pedras then completed his hat-trick with two further strikes either side of a Sam McGrath double before Rovers’ Jordan Deer snatched a dramatic late winner.

Their defeat left the Minstermen just three points above the relegation zone, although with still a couple of games in hand ahead of hosting National Super League leaders London Helvecia at the YorkSport Arena later this afternoon (kick-off 4.15pm)

Weekend Results: Birmingham 4-7 Reading Escolla, Cambridge United 7-2 Oxford City Lions; London City 4-6 London Helvecia; London Genesis 2-6 Loughborough; Tranmere Rovers 5-4 York City
