York City have snapped up striker Jordan Burrow after leaving National League side Gateshead.

The 25-year-old is a recent FA Trophy winner with FC Halifax Town and has previous Football League experience at both Stevenage and Morecambe.

Former England ‘C’ international Burrow scored ten goals in 43 appearances at Lincoln City during the 2014-15 season, until moving to West Yorkshire.

While at Halifax, the Sheffield-born marksman claimed eighteen goals in 56 games as part of their 2015-16 campaign.

Burrow went on to join Gateshead in November 2016, where he totalled 21 goals in 76 appearances, including thirteenĀ  last season.

He becomes York’s second summer acquisition after former skipper Russel Penn returned to Bootham Crescent yesterday – once again from Gateshead.
