York City Wembley-winner Danny Holmes has signed for Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The 29-year-old defender arrives at Deeside having played 33 games and scored once for Welsh Premier League outfit Bangor City last season.

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Danny Holmes to Connah’s Quay,” manager Andy Morrison told the Nomads’ official website. “For me, Danny was the outstanding full-back in the league last season and he further strengthens our squad going forwards.”

Holmes made 27 appearances with a single goal for the Minstermen having joined from AFC Fylde in November 2016 – the last of those while famously helping them lift the FA Trophy at Wembley for the second time in five years the following May.

He also includes spells with Tranmere Rovers, Southport, The New Saints, Fleetwood Town and Newport County during his career.
